Holiday Pet Dangers:

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…”

The winter holidays are coming, and we all want it to be wonderful- for our beloved pets, too. So this page is a little reminder that as fun as the holidays are, you have to keep an eye out for safety hazards.

Some holiday plants, decor, and food can be dangerous for a pet to eat. Make sure you don’t buy any poisonous plants for your home, and be careful with your Christmas tree ornaments- especially the breakable ones. Tinsel can be fun for animals to play with also, but it isn’t safe. Make sure you keep all your holiday treats out of reach also. Now that you have learned about how to make the holidays safe for your pet, let’s find out how to make it fun! It is so much fun to hang a stocking for your dog, cat, bunny, or other animal, then stuff it full of treats on Christmas Eve. Although, my dog loves to get into his present before Christmas. His dog toy-teddy bear is hidden in a closet, and he likes to go and get it whenever he feels like it. Here is a site for safe stocking stuffers:

Happy holidays!
